Dragons win three of four against Forest Hill

In a day full of close encounters, the Doncaster seniors came out victorious in three of their four games against Forest Hill.

Marcel D’Avoine belted two home runs – his fourth and fifth of the year – as the Firsts claimed a hard-fought 5-3 win at Deep Creek. 

Fraser Boyd continued his fine form on the mound before handing the ball over to coach Dan McGrath, who picked up the win with three scoreless innings in relief.

The Dragons, who improved to 5-4 with the win, have an opportunity to jump back into the top four when they kick off the second half of their schedule against third-placed GMBC next week..

In a top-of-the-table clash at Billabong Park, Cam Allen, Adam Marshall and Tom Ervin all left the yard as the Thirds improved to 8-0 with a 15-14 win over the second-placed Eagles.

Earlier, the Reserves erased a 4-1 deficit to snatch a 5-4 victory while the Fourths fell 9-8 in seven innings.
