The Thirds and Fourths claimed home wins while the Firsts and Seconds came up short at Ringwood leading into the King’s Birthday break.

Having played just one of their eight games at Deep Creek so far this season, the Firsts (4-4) enter the long weekend half a game out of the top four following an 11-4 loss at Proclamation Park.

Marcel D’Avoine put the Dragons up 2-0 in the top of the first with his third home run of the year but the Saints hit back for three in the bottom half and never trailed from there. Making his first A-Grade start of the season, Zak Stafilis finished with two hits – including a key RBI single with two outs – before Ringwood ran away with the game late.

The Reserves also enter the break at 4-4 after a hard-fought loss in which the Dragons rallied for an 8-7 lead but ran out of time to complete the final inning, resulting in a 7-2 defeat.

The Thirds moved to 8-0 with an 8-3 win over St Kilda, while youngster Lincoln Dauparas hit an inside-the-park grand slam in his senior debut as the Fourths triumphed 17-7 over Monash.
