Another big win by the Thirds highlighted the Doncaster seniors results on Saturday.

Fresh off Brayden Henderson’s perfect game last week, the Thirds came away with a 15-8 victory over North Coburg to remain undefeated after three rounds. Also facing the Rebels, the Fourths led for much of the game before going down 8-7.

The Firsts fell to 1-2 on the young season with a 9-4 loss to North Balwyn at Myrtle Park.

After scoring two runs in the bottom of the first, the Stingers broke the game open with a grand slam off the bat of cleanup hitter Mitch Kennedy and had extended their lead to 8-0 before Doncaster came to life.

Making a rare start at second base, Liam Robertson led off the top of the sixth by crushing the first home run of his senior career with a drive to right-centrefield. The Dragons clawed back three more runs on a string of hits that narrowed the margin to four but that’s as close as they’d come, eventually falling 9-4 after North Balwyn tacked one on in the seventh.

The Reserves earlier fell to the Stingers, 11-4.
